Two women were arrested Thursday after the Collier County Sheriff’s Office says they stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from local Walgreens and CVS stores.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 7 p.m. regarding a theft at a CVS . Deputies checked the area looking for two suspects in a dark Nissan Altima.
Moments after the call, the Nissan was found outside the Walgreens store on 13520 Tamiami Trail.
One deputy conducted an investigative traffic stop on the women’s vehicle, while another reviewed store security video showing the driver and her passenger stealing items from the store.
Deputies found almost $10,000 worth of merchandise inside the car. Home pregnancy tests, medication, fragrances, and various health and beauty items were included.
Tiffany Dawn Reid, 39, and Tamica Fleming, 38, were arrested and taken into custody. They were both charged with grand theft.
Fleming faces an additional felony charge after she was found to have an anti-shoplifting device hidden in her bra.
