PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Providence police on Monday announced the results of a four-month undercover investigation into drug trafficking in and around Kennedy Plaza.
Col. Hugh Clements said they had arrest warrants for 23 people, adding that they seized fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, oxycodone, and other prescription drugs, as well as a gun.
“Twenty-one were indicted, two were criminally charged — 23 individuals in total being charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance to an undercover Providence police officer,” Clements said during a press conference.
The operation was dubbed “Operation Bussed Out,” with Clement noting that five of the suspects are facing additional charges. He also said they all have criminal records, with eleven of them also violating their probation.
